JAN BELL
Jan Bell was born in Yorkshire and, since moving to the US in her teens, has made a name for
herself as an alt. country songwriter. Her songs have been covered by Jolie Holland,
Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas), and many others. Bell’s album, Songs for Love Drunk
Sinners, won the Independent Music Awards “Alt. Country Album of The Year” by popular vote
and has received critical acclaim from Village Voice, The Nashville Scene, and Americana UK.
The London Sunday Times recently proclaimed her a “latter-day Loretta Lynn".
She is also band leader of old timey country trio The Maybelles, who are based in NYC.
